Rep. Adam Schiff, who as the head of the House Intelligence Committee has become the public face of the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, will attend House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s weekly press conference later Wednesday morning.
Pelosi’s office announced late Tuesday that the California Democrat will take part in the presser.
Schiff’s panel last week released the whistleblower complaint that prompted Pelosi to launch the impeachment inquiry.
The complaint, sent to the inspector general of the intelligence community in August, raised concerns about a call between President Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, on July 25.
In the call, Trump asked Zelensky to team up with his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
Trump has railed against Schiff, suggesting that he be arrested for treason.
