The lawyer for the suspected Texas mass shooter is questioning the police account that his client was not bullied in school, a report said on Monday.
The attorney for Dimitrios Pagourtzis — a 17-year-old old student who allegedly killed 10 people at his school last week — told ABC News that he is “looking into” bullying accusations made in the media.
“This weekend Santa Fe ISD released a statement saying they had investigated the claims of bullying and found them to be not true,” Nick Poehl, the lawyer, told the network.
“That was released less than 24 hours after the incident occurred. It’s not clear what the nature of that investigation was except that it is clear that they didn’t reach out to any of the kids that were on TV claiming that it occurred, so we have some questions about that investigation.”
The attorney added that Pagourtzis, who was charged with capital murder for slaying his fellow students with a shotgun, is “confused and scared” and the motive for the massacre is unclear.
“At this point, I’m not even prepared to say he knows why this happened,” Poehl said.
The report comes as it was revealed that one of the victims, 16-year-old Shana Fisher, was hounded by the teen after she spurned his advances.
“Shana told her mother two weeks ago he was going to come and kill her,” her dad, Timothy Thomas, told the Daily Mail.
