Brian Laundrie’s mom reportedly changed camping reservations before he returned home

By Yaron Steinbuch

Missing fugitive Brian Laundrie’s mother reportedly canceled Florida camping reservations for two people the day before he returned to his parents’ home without Gabby Petito – and then she made new reservations for three people.

On Aug. 24, Roberta Laundrie made reservations for two at the Soto Park Campground in St. Petersburg between Sept. 1 and 3, but changed them on Aug. 31 for three people for the weekend of Sept. 6-8, according to documents obtained by Fox News.

Her 23-year-old son — who has been named by police as a “person of interest” in Petito’s death — returned to his parents’ North Port home in Florida on Sept. 1 in her 2012 Ford Transit.

The Laundries, who listed their Dodge pickup truck on the reservation form, checked in at the site on Sept. 6 and checked out two days later, the network reported, citing other documents it has obtained.

Sheriff turns Laundrie Florida campground video over to FBI

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

The Pinellas County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday that it had turned over surveillance video from a local campground to the FBI, as the manhunt for Brian Laundrie continues in the disappearance and death of Gabby Petito.

The footage is from Fort De Soto Park, about 75 miles from Laundrie’s home in North Port, where the 23-year-old fugitive camped with his parents as recently as Sept. 8.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Travis Sibley said in an email that the video was turned over to the feds on Tuesday but referred any further inquiries to the FBI.

Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino confirmed this week that Laundrie and his parents, Chris and Roberta, were at the campground on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7.

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Dog the Bounty Hunter says he’s already closing in on Brian Laundrie as he officially launched his search for the 23-year-old fugitive who is sought for questioning in Gabby Petito’s disappearance and death.

“We’re here at the island,” the reality TV star, whose real name is Duane Chapman, said on Twitter Wednesday. “This would be and could be the perfect spot for him to hide. Not too many people out here but there’s a lot of environmental things that we’re going to fight.

“So here we go,” he said. “The search now is really on. The search has just begun.”

He wrote in the tweet that “boat crews and ground teams have been called in and we have search and rescue dogs deployed.”

FBI has Brian Laundrie's phone but it's unclear where Gabby Petito's is

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

The FBI has taken Brian Laundrie’s cellphone as part of its manhunt for the 23-year-old fugitive — but it is unclear where his slain girlfriend’s phone is, according to a report.

Laundrie went missing from his parents’ Florida home more than two weeks ago and is sought for questioning in the disappearance and death of 22-year-old Gabby Petito.

The FBI have executed a search warrant at Laundrie’s parents’ home in North Port and returned for DNA evidence Sunday — and have taken Laundrie’s phone, Insider reported.

Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino confirmed last week that Laundrie fled the home without his wallet and phone.

The FBI is also trying to locate a burner phone they believe Laundrie bought at a local AT&T store on Sept. 14, the day his parents said he went for a hike and never returned, TMZ reported Wednesday.

Brian Laundrie search continues with dive teams back on the scene

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

A specialized dive team is back at the scene of the massive search for Brian Laundrie at a swampy Florida park, as police seek to question the 23-year-old fugitive in the death of Long Island native Gabby Petito.

The divers were dispatched to the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve as the search for Laundrie neared two weeks, the Sun reported.

Police confirmed that the teams, who were initially deployed last week, remain part of the search for Laundrie.

“Dive teams have been in and out of the search for a while,” North Port police spokesman Josh Taylor told The Post on Wednesday. “They are still active in the search process.”

“We continue to search,” he said.

Brian Laundrie may have been spotted in selfie days before Gabby Petito was reported missing: report

By Joshua Miller

A Florida couple claims they camped next to Brian Laundrie and his family just days before his girlfriend Gabby Petito was reported missing – and may have unwittingly captured him in a selfie.

“Apparently, they were at the campground when we were there, and they were right next to us,” Marci Newsom, of Fort Myers, told WBBH Wednesday.

Newsom said she and her husband, Kenny, camped next to now-missing Brian Laundrie, 23, and his parents after checking into Fort De Soto Park on Labor Day.

Pinellas County documents cited by the station show Laundrie’s mother, Roberta, checked out two days later — and three days before Petito, 22, was reported missing by her family on Sept 11.

Petito’s remains were found in a remote section of a Wyoming national forest on Sept. 19 — two days after Laundrie’s parents also reported him missing.

Coverage of Gabby Petito case leads to the apparent discovery of another body -- a missing dad

By Yaron Steinbuch

The intense coverage of the Gabby Petito case has helped bring apparent closure to the family of a Texas man who went missing in Wyoming, where the Long Island native’s body was found, according to a report.

The last trace from Robert Lowery, 46, a father of two from Houston, was reportedly a ping from his cellphone in Jackson on Aug. 23.

Lowery was seen on video from Aug. 19 at a restaurant at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village. He was last spotted the following day in Bridger-Teton National Forest, where Petito’s body was found Sept. 19, CNN reported, citing the Teton County Sheriff’s Office.

Dog the Bounty Hunter: ‘50 percent of the time’ parents know where kids are

By Yaron Steinbuch

Dog the Bounty Hunter, who plans to set up camp in Florida in his search for Brian Laundrie, said in a new interview that he is eager to speak with the fugitive’s dad – noting that in “50 percent of the time” parents know where their kids are.

The reality TV star — whose real name is Duane Chapman — told Dr. Oz on Tuesday that parents typically claim they have no clue where their children are after being accused of a crime, The Sun reported.

“And after, they say, ‘Dog, I couldn’t, I knew,'” he said.

About “50 percent of the time,” parents know where their children are, Chapman said, adding that “35 percent of the parents help.”

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

The Florida home of Brian Laundrie’s parents has been flooded with batches of flowers — sent from all over the country in memory of slain Long Island native Gabby Petito.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie, whose fugitive son is sought for questioning in Petito’s death, have been getting flower deliveries for days to honor 22-year-old Petito — with the hashtag, #flowersforgabby now trending on Twitter.

“I felt compelled to participate because the silent treatment is a profound way to completely invalidate a victim,” Chicago resident Stephanie Harris told CNN.

“And sending #flowersforgabby to the Laundrie family is a way of saying, ‘We will not let you give Gabby and other victims the silent treatment,’ ” Harris said. “She was here.”

Lawyer confirms Brian Laundrie was at Florida campground with parents

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Brian Laundrie went on a camping trip in Florida with his parents following Gabby Petito’s disappearance, his lawyer confirmed Tuesday, while insisting that all three Laundries returned home.

The statement from attorney Steven Bertolino refutes recent claims by reality TV star Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapma that Brian went on the run after his parents left Fort De Soto Park in Pinellas County without him.

“The family camped from 09-06 to 09-07 and they all left the park,” Bertolino said.
