Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth is on Joe Biden’s vice presidential short list — and is about to get an interview that could seal the deal, a Senate colleague said.

“She’s spectacular, a great colleague and I hope that she fares well in this interview, which I think is going to take place soon,” the state’s other senator, Dick Durbin, said Friday.

Biden has vowed to choose a female running mate — and Duckworth, 52, an early Biden booster, has long been thought to be in the running.

As a female, Asian-American U.S. Army veteran who lost both legs in the Iraq War, Duckworth ticks multiple boxes in the former veep’s search for a running mate.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, California Sen. Kamala Harris, and former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams are all thought to be under consideration.
