The Senate on Thursday confirmed President Trump’s selection of Ben Carson as secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

The Republican-controlled Senate voted 58-41 to approve his selection.

Carson, a heralded neurosurgeon and former Republican president candidate, was criticized for not having any government experience during his confirmation hearings.
