Seven people were injured when a firearm went off at a “family-type” dance in Houston on Sunday night, cops said.
One victim had been struck in the leg and six others suffered “superficial” wounds when a shot rang out at Sabadomingo flea market in North Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told reporters that the suspect was in custody and that person claimed that the gun went off accidentally.
One person suffered a gunshot wound to the leg while the others were struck by fragments after the bullet ricocheted off the ground, the sheriff said.
Children were present at the Sabadomingo event, described as a “family-type dance.”
The gunman was not identified on Sunday night.
