More than 200 passengers and crew watched from the cabin of their jet as its right engine burst into flames after an emergency landing in Singapore Monday.

No one was injured as the fire was quickly extinguished on the runway by emergency crews.

The Sinagpore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER took off from Changi Airport bound for Milan, Italy, only to turn back two hours later after an “engine warning” message flashed in the cockpit.

The engine caught fire after the jet touched back down at the Singapore airport, according to an airline statement.

The unflappable passengers were photographed sedately remaining in their seats during the emergency.

Some looked bored, others stared down as if engrossed in their phones.

Other photographs that emerged on social media depict the wing engulfed in a distressing fireball.

“The blaze was quite fierce and we waited for around two to three minutes before the fire engines arrived,” passenger Lee Bee Yee, 43, told The Straights Times.

Passengers were to be transferred to another Milan-bound aircraft later Monday, the airline said.
