A promising young star in the Latin music scene had her life cut short in an “ambush-style” shooting while sitting in a parked car in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Maria De La Rosa, a 22-year-old known professionally as DELAROSA, was killed in the Northridge neighborhood after two gunmen approached and opened fire on her vehicle.

Two gunmen opened fire on the singer’s car. Instagram/@delarosaaaaWitnesses said two male suspects ran up to the car and fired a flurry of rounds into the vehicle around 1:25 a.m. Nov. 22. Two men in the car with the singer were left in critical condition and fighting for their lives.
De La Rosa was rushed to the Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to ABC 7.

The up-and-coming singer was just making her mark on the music world, having released her track “No Me Llames” (“Don’t Call Me”) this past August. Detectives are working to piece together a motive for the execution-style murder, and the suspects remain unknown.
