Brian MooreLooking at photos of the fatal exit wound on the back of his son’s head, retired Sgt. Raymond Moore shook his head violently as tears streamed down his face.
Demetrius Blackwell, who is on trial for fatally gunning down the 25-year-old cop in in 2015, showed no such emotion — he stared coldly at the photos as his lawyer flipped slowly through the grisly images.
Officer Moore’s mother, Irene, was spared the pain of seeing the photos — she was escorted out of the Queens courtroom moments before forensic pathologist Dr. Jason Graham of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner began his testimony.
Moore’s sister Christine stayed briefly, but broke down alongside her father, and quickly left to join her mom in the court’s restroom.
The trial continues Wednesday. If convicted on charges of first-degree murder, Blackwell faces up to life behind bars.
