The Connecticut teen who was stabbed to death Friday by a jilted prom suitor will be honored during upcoming school production of the musical “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Drama teacher Michael Mele said he about canceling the performance after Maren Sanchez was slain inside Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Conn. last week. But he and school officials decided the show must go on.

“The students need to grieve,” Mele said. “Even if they only come to rehearsal to cry together, let them.”

The gory logo for the production — in which Sanchez was to be a puppeteer — will be changed in light of the tragedy, as will a few lines referencing violence.

On Friday classmate Chris Plaskon allegedly stabbed Sanchez, who had turned him down when he asked her to the prom.

Sunday he was under psychiatric evaluation, awaiting a court hearing.
