A 3-year-old Louisiana boy was killed by a stray bullet while he was sleeping in his bed, police said.

Devin Page Jr. was fatally struck inside his Baton Rouge home late Tuesday, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The little boy died at the scene, authorities said.

Police haven’t revealed the circumstances surrounding the shooting, saying only that the investigation is ongoing.

The boy’s family told local outlet WAFB that the fatal bullet came through the toddler’s window and that neighbors had been in gunfights before.

“I want something to be done … I want justice for my son,” said his mother, Tye Toliver.

Toliver said she had previously tried to move out of the home, but was told it would cost thousands of dollars to relocate. It wasn’t immediately clear if she was referring to moving costs or financial penalties for breaking a lease.

“After the first couple of weeks, I was trying to move out because of the neighbors, because of the drama. It was always fighting. They were shooting at each other with guns,” Toliver said.

“I try to stick it out, now that I stick it out, this is the outcome of what happened — my son got killed.”

The boy’s grandmother, Cathy Toliver, added: “Until it happens to you, until the gun is shot at your house, you know, until the bullets come through your window, you don’t get involved. You have nothing to say.

“But you don’t want this feeling that we have right now. You don’t want the feeling of knowing that you’ll never see your grandbaby or your son again. You don’t want that feeling.”
