A small plane crashed into an office building in downtown Anchorage, Alaska, and burst into flames on Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of anyone hurt on the ground, a police spokeswoman said.

The crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. Alaska time, and it was not immediately clear whether any of the offices in the building were open, said spokeswoman Anita Shell. She said she did not know how many people were in the aircraft and could not confirm any fatalities.

The Alaska Dispatch News quoted an Anchorage resident Mike Coumbe, who lives a few blocks away, as saying he heard the plane circling the area prior to the crash, adding “I knew it was having problems.”
