A plane crashed into multiple parked vehicles along a residential street in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on Thursday, according to reports.

Video from KCAL9 News showed the scene in the the Pacoima neighborhood, with smoke billowing from the wreckage. Multiple cars appeared to be engulfed in flames.

In the footage, firefighters are perched atop one of the homes scanning damage to the building and its front yard.

The crash occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on North Sutter Avenue, a stone’s throw from Whiteman Airport, KCAL9 reported.

The plane’s pilot died in the crash, KABC said. Officials reported zero injuries on the ground.

Federal Aviation Administration rep Ian Gregor told the LA Times the plane crashed while approaching the nearby airport’s runway.

Gregor said the pilot was the only person about the single-engine Cessna 172, the newspaper said.

Los Angeles fire officials told the Times the crash damaged “at least” three cars.

The incident’s cause remains under investigation.
