Eggs anyone?

A Charlotte, North Carolina, couple got the shock of their lives when they found a large snake hiding out in one of their kitchen cabinets. As seen in the video above, the slimy creature slithers from its high perch to devour a fresh egg on the counter — in one bite.

“It was a run-of-the mill Sunday afternoon here on our little farmette, until a noise in the kitchen made us look up at the spice cabinet,” said Laura Neff, who filmed the video.

The rat snake entered the house through a large hole in the laundry room floor, she said. The hole has since been “covered by a very heavy concrete block and which will soon be permanently plugged.”

Neff and her husband Richard were able to push the snake out of the house through a nearby window using two brooms and plenty of patience. But not until it was nourished.

“Yes, we let it finish the egg,” she said.
