The California socialite who put out a hit on her husband, then killed herself, was a “narcissistic gold digger obsessed with her look,” according to a Las Vegas performer who worked for her.

“She seems like someone that would take someone else’s life, not her own,” said Erik Martonovich, who once performed in a disastrous equestrian show run by Remley.

Remley shot herself outside the Princess Pub & Grille in San Diego’s Little Italy. The 45-year-old died from a “gunshot wound to the head” per authorities after she called her estranged husband, Mark Remley, from the bar, complaining about her new partner, according to the Daily Mail.

In August 2023, she was convicted of taking a hit out on her ex’s life, along with charges of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and possessing a firearm in public. She pleaded guilty to the charges and served one year of her nearly four-year prison sentence.

“She was a narcissistic gold digger. She based her whole persona on her look, maybe she was losing her looks and decided not to continue,” said Martonovich.

Martonovich has not held back when talking about the Remleys before. “I knew them well,” he told The Post in 2023. “They were a–holes and karma is a bitch.”

Martonovich was part of her failed 2012 San Diego equestrian show, which he says she tanked. The Del Mar racetrack show “Valitar” lasted just five days. Performers said the married couple shuttered the show, leaving cast members and their horses stranded in California, according to TheHorse.com.

“In business, she was a moron,” Martonovich said.

He also claims she once propositioned him to have sex with her as her husband watched, which he declined: “I steered clear.”

“It sounds very sketchy to me that she called, said someone is being mean, and then committed suicide,” said Martonovich of her death. “I don’t know why he answered the phone. He always said yes to her always, so she was probably in a bad situation.”

As far as Remley dying in front of a bar, Martonovich said he wasn’t surprised.

“She was definitely a partier. I definitely saw her drink a lot; she was into other stuff, too, given this was a while back, though.” 

Martonovich moved to Las Vegas to be in a production called “Gladius the Show.” A year ago, he was interviewed about the Remleys for a documentary that’s yet to be distributed. He said he had heard that Mark Remley had done so many drugs that it had impacted his brain functions.

His only regret about Remley’s death is that “she won’t get to see the documentary when I talked s–t about them.”
