A loved-up soldier was killed in a motorcycle crash just hours after proposing to his girlfriend.
Noah Jacobus, 25, was riding alongside his new fiancée, Molly Wiseman, to surprise their loved ones with their engagement news when he lost control and crashed into a mailbox late Wednesday in Orangevale, Sacramento County, California.
“It was horrifying, seeing it,” Wiseman told KCRA in an emotional interview.

A memorial to Jacobus at the scene of the crash. KCRAJacobus had asked her to marry him earlier that day — and she said yes.
“We were on our way to dinner because we were going to announce our engagement,” she said, getting choked up as she spoke off-camera.
Jacobus was a US Army veteran who had just been offered a full-time position with the National Guard, according to Weissman and his LinkedIn profile.
“He was so excited about that. He’d been chasing that for months,” Wiseman said. “It’s just not fair.”
The couple had first met at a bike meet-up in Sacramento this January, and had since spent “every day” together, “locked at the hip,” the bride-to-be said.
“It was just cut too short,” Wiseman said of their time together.
