The Spokane NAACP on Sunday abruptly postponed a meeting at which its embattled president had promised to talk about the controversy sparked after her parents said she was a white woman posing as black.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the group cited “the need to continue discussion with regional and national NAACP leaders” over the controversy surrounding Rachel Dolezal.

There was no new date for the meeting, which had been set for Monday.

On Friday, Dolezal’s parents revealed they’re both white and an adopted brother said Dolezal had assumed an African-American identity a few years ago.

“It’s like she’s in blackface,” Ezra Dolezal said.

James Wilburn Jr., Dolezal’s predecessor as Spokane NAACP leader, said, “She may well need help.”

“I think there may be some kind of mental issue going on,” Wilburn told The Post. “That’s why I’m reluctant to throw her under the bus.”

Wilburn recalled how Dolezal broke down in tears earlier this year when she told the city’s police chief: “As a black mother, I worry about my black son.”

“And all the time, that was not her son,” he said.
