A student who fatally shot his parents at Central Michigan University was taken into custody, police said early Saturday.
James Eric Davis Jr., a 19-year-old sophomore at the school, was spotted on a train passing through the campus shortly after midnight, the university said in a statement.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Davis Jr. had gunned down his parents just after 9 a.m Friday morning when they came to pick him up for spring break, according to the Detroit Free Press.
The shooting led to an hours-long manhunt as panic spread across the campus.
The university president thanked the community and law enforcement for helping to catch the suspect.
