A passenger’s “stupid joke” on an airplane departing from Florida didn’t fly with the crew, officials said.

Police said Nathalie Tremblay, 53, was boarding an Air Canada flight Wednesday at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport with her boyfriend when a flight attendant noticed a carry-on bag stuck in the overhead bin, news station WPTV reported.

Upon being asked who owned the bag, Tremblay reportedly responded saying, “There’s a bomb in it” and laughed.

Tremblay’s boyfriend told her not to joke around, but the flight attendant reported the incident to the captain.

The Montreal-bound plane was evacuated and the terminal was closed while authorities investigated.

Detectives interviewed Tremblay who admitted she made a “stupid joke” about the weapon to the flight attendant.

The bomb squad cleared the scene and passengers were allowed to board the plane again.

Tremblay was arrested on a charge of making a false report over a bomb threat.
