They’re tiny marsupials about the size of a human hand that can glide hundreds of yards in one leap. And they can sure make babies.

A Massachusetts animal rescue is looking for homes for 44 sugar gliders after their previous owner “became overwhelmed as the animals began to reproduce,” MassLive.com reported.

The MSPCA-Angell in Boston is looking to place 27 male and 17 female sugar gliders, most of which are about a year old. One of the tiny, playful possums is 13 years old. It’s “by far the largest ever surrender of sugar gliders,” the nonprofit has ever seen.

The organization said it will hold off releasing some of the females for adoption until it’s known if they are pregnant. They’ll be held at the MSPCA until they’ve given birth.
