There’s strong evidence that children suffer from summer brain drain.

Most students need weeks — if not months — to relearn some of what they knew in early June, studies show.

But it turns out adults suffer their own, abbreviated version of brain drain. Discombobulated by vacations, assailed by distractions, they struggle to pay attention, said Diane Amundson, a workplace-productivity engineer.
