The Supreme Court on Monday tossed out a lower court ruling that let a pregnant illegal immigrant minor in federal custody get an abortion last year at age 17 despite President Trump’s opposition.

Although the girl already has had the abortion, the case is a victory for Trump because it reverses a precedent that could have allowed other detained minors to seek abortions.

In the unsigned opinion with no dissents, the justices threw out the lower court’s decision on the grounds that the dispute became moot once the teenager had the abortion.

The girl, whose name and nationality were not disclosed and was called “Jane Doe” in legal papers, had the abortion in Texas on Oct. 25, the day after a US appeals court ruled in her favor.
