Folks in the Alps had plenty to yodel about Saturday after an unseasonably early snowstorm dumped up to 10 inches across the mountains.

A sharp drop in temperatures brought snow overnight to parts of Switzerland, Austria and Germany, where trees glistened with the white stuff in a winter wonderland scene from December — not September.

In southern Switzerland, the town of Montana was digging out from almost 10 inches, a record for this time of year, the country’s meteorological agency reported.

All the snow slowed traffic to a crawl in some places, and authorities were out in force across mountainous regions to clear blocked roads.

One Austrian resort even opened for skiing and snowboarding, claiming nearly 20 inches of fresh powder.
