Tennessee cops busted the man they believe stabbed a nurse to death inside her condo nearly two weeks ago, authorities said Wednesday.

Christopher McLawhorn, 24, has been charged with criminal homicide in connection to the Feb. 28 slaying of 23-year-old nurse Tiffany Ferguson, Nashville police said.

McLawhorn was picked up early Sunday morning carrying two bottles of alcohol and some marijuana, according to police officers, who originally picked him up for misdemeanor drug possession.

The man denied he had anything to do with Ferguson’s death.

Police said they believe Ferguson was murdered by the homeless McLawhorn while he was burglarizing her apartment.

Cops have said from the start that Ferguson’s killer was probably a stranger. Ferguson’s roommate was jarred asleep by screams, finding the nurse in her bed mortally wounded and the front door open.
