The suspect accused of killing a Yale graduate student smirked for his mugshot following his arrest Friday in Alabama.
Mustachioed alleged killer Qinxuan Pan cracked a slight smile in his jail-issued orange jumpsuit in the photo.
Kevin Jiang was a student at Yale’s School of the Environment. FacebookPan, a grad student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, allegedly gunned down Kevin Jiang, 26, on a New Haven, Connecticut, street on Feb. 6.
After the killing, US Marshals identified Pan as a person of interest and issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
It’s unclear why he allegedly killed Jiang, an Army veteran and graduate student at Yale who had recently gotten engaged to be married.
Pan is a US citizen who was born in China and was last known to be living in Massachusetts, the Associated Press reported.
Jiang was shot several times on the February morning and later found on the ground outside of his car on a New Haven street.
