Tax-cheat targets
WASHINGTON — A GOP lawmaker’s proposal to make it a firing offense for federal workers to cheat on their taxes is expected to pass the House, officials said.
Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz’s bill targets more than 98,000 federal civilian employees who, according to the IRS, owed more than $1 billion in unpaid federal income taxes in 2010.
