An Ohio high school teacher is accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a female student, according to police.
Hilary Dattilo, 30, was charged Tuesday for sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after reports that she was sexually involved with a student at Hamilton High School, news station WHIO reported.
Dattilo, who was also a school volleyball coach, allegedly engaged in sexual encounters with the student off-campus between Aug. 3 and Dec. 8.
Parents of students reportedly tipped off police about the relationship allegations.
School officials said Dattlio was placed on administrative leave following the accusations.
“As a result of an ongoing investigation conducted collaboratively with the Hamilton City Police Department, the Hamilton City School District has placed a teacher at Hamilton High School on administrative leave pending termination proceedings,” Joni Copas, school director of communications, told the Hamilton Journal News.
The 30-year-old teacher is being held in custody on $5,000 bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8.
