A teacher who “reeked” of marijuana was busted for selling drugs at the high school where she taught, according to police.
Jocelyn McArthur, a 33-year-old honors math teacher, was caught with pot she intended to sell on campus at Overhills High School in Spring Lake, NC, according to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.

One of McArthur’s former colleagues told WRAL her arrest last week came after a years-long pattern of erratic behavior and claimed the administration had previously tried to have her removed.
“She reeked of marijuana every single day, her classroom reeked of marijuana every single day,” said the coworker, who wanted to remain anonymous. “This is nothing new. This has been an ongoing situation.”
“Our principal tried to fire this woman twice. He sent her home. The county office sent her back to the school,” they added.
McArthur, who was in her fifth year of teaching at the school, is the mother of two daughters, ages 10 and 14, according to her teacher page on the district’s website.
One of McArthur’s Overhills High School colleagues said that the administration had previously tried to have her removed. WRALMcArthur is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver near a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and having a Taser on school property.
She is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Harnett County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, jail records show.
