A teen cheerleader from California leaped to her death in an apparent suicide just weeks after a performance on “America’s Got Talent,” according to reports.
The body of Emily Gold, 17, was found just before midnight Friday under an overpass in Rancho Cucamonga in what authorities are treating as a suicide, the Daily Mail reported.
It had been run over several times before it was recovered, including by one vehicle that didn’t stop, the California Highway Patrol told the outlet.
Her deathcomes a month after her Los Osos High School cheerleading troupe performed at the quarterfinals of NBC’s reality competition show “America’s Got Talent.”

Gold and her teammates wowed judges, including Simon Cowell, who gave them a rare standing ovation after their audition performance in May.
“The times we spent together won’t ever be enough,” Gold’s brother Alex wrote in an Instagram post. “Half my heart is gone without you…Rest in heaven Emily Gold because it will always be your world.”

“As a community lets come together and support the Gold family in this difficult time. Please know this money will go directly to the family to support them and help with expenses,” the page’s organizer, Jeanette Fierro, wrote.
