A teenage girl died and an elderly woman was hospitalized after a devastating fire ripped through a Hollywood home early Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
More than 40 firefighters rushed to the scene after the blaze erupted at the home at 1760 N. Vista Del Mar Avenue just before 3 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Officials initially reported that both victims had died, but Capt. Cody Weireter later clarified that first responders were able to revive the 70-year-old en route to the hospital, according to ABC 7.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
