A Texas teenager kneeling by her bed to pray was struck by a stray bullet that whizzed through her wall.

The bullet — which came just inches from 17-year-old Kimberly Mendoza’s head Monday — could have killed her if she was standing, she and cops told ABC13 on Tuesday.

“I felt something and I heard, like, ‘boom!’ I got scared,” Mendoza, who lives near Houston, told the station. “My mom turned on the light and saw blood.”

The high school student had been kneeling in the dark, asking the Big Man Upstairs for “strength” at 11 p.m. — when she heard a pop and felt pain in her arm, she said.

“I didn’t realize what happened,” she said. “My arm hurt a lot … My mom said, ‘I am going to call the ambulance and the police.’ ”

The bullet, which had been fired from a nearby apartment complex, injured her right forearm. She was taken to a hospital and treated for the minor wound.

Now, she says, a bullet hole in her bedroom wall near her window reminds her that someone is watching over her.

“I feel great because I know God is still great,” she said. “He takes care of me.”

Police said the teen could have easily met her maker, if she hadn’t been kneeling. No arrests had been made on Monday.
