A Texas teen has been arrested after he was allegedly caught in a shocking video mowing down a disabled man and then driving away without helping him.
Pablo Antonio Avila-Banagas, 17, was booked into Travis County Jail on Friday on charges that include failure to stop and render aid, injury to a disabled person and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Austin Police Department released surveillance footage of the incident, which occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Sept. 3 in a parking lot on North Lamar Boulevard.
In the footage, a man in a power wheelchair can be seen slowly crossing the parking lot. When a white truck speeds into the frame, the man can be seen waving for the driver to slow down before he is struck and dragged into the main road.

A video still shows moments before the hit-and-run. Austin Police DepartmentAlthough the driver of the white truck sped off, a passing Austin Fire Department truck saw the accident and immediately stopped to render aid. The victim was transported by EMS with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
