A teen from Tennessee reportedly stole a BMW full of kittens on Monday and drove more than 500 miles before crashing the vehicle.

James Pitts, 19, swiped the car at a rest stop in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and evaded police in two states before he crashed in Clarksville, Tennessee on Sunday, according to Nashville’s News Channel 5.

The kittens were not injured.

Pitts initially had a woman riding with him, but he dropped her off along the way somewhere in Missouri or Illinois, the report said.

After he got into the car accident, he fled on foot and fled into the woods.

Pitts was later caught and charged with criminal impersonation and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The kittens made it through the ordeal unscathed, and their owner was reunited with them at a Tennessee animal care and control center.
