A 2-year-old boy in Florida was reportedly sent flying from a vehicle during a terrifying crash caught on video.

Authorities said the boy’s mom, Arteshia Cowart, was behind the wheel Sunday evening when the car was hit while she was driving across an intersection in Winter Haven, news station WFLA reported.

Surveillance video showed the Buick Cowart was driving wait 32 seconds at a stop sign before pulling out and colliding with a Ford pickup truck.

The truck, which was driven by 48-year-old Bryan Whiddon, sent the Buick spinning, and the 2-year-old boy was ejected out its back window.

Police said Cowart’s car then rolled backward and missed hitting the child by about 5 feet.

The boy was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he is recovering, according to WFLA. His mom and 3-year-old sister, who was also in the backseat, were treated for minor injuries.

No charges have been filed, but authorities are investigating the incident.
