A 4-month-old baby girl was fatally run over by her mother in their front yard in a tragic accident, authorities said.

The baby succumbed Friday to severe head injuries stemming from the incident at the Plum Grove home, news station KTRK reported.

She was in a swing Nov. 13 when the mom accidentally drove forward, striking her daughter and pinning her in the play set, according to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

While on the phone with 911, the mom drove to a nearby convenience store for help to save her child, KTRK reported.

“I took the baby out of the car seat and elevated her head to make sure she was breathing,” a store employee, who heard the mother screaming, told the outlet.

The baby was brought to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, where she died two weeks later, authorities said.

No charges have been filed, but the case will be sent to the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office for review, news station KHOU reported.
