A 15-year-old student is dead after he shot a teacher and himself at his high school near San Antonio Monday morning, authorities said.
The female teacher — from Hill Country College Preparatory High School in the town of Bulverde — was rushed to the hospital after being shot by the unidentified male student, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post without revealing details about the teacher’s condition.

The school was evacuated and all other staff and students are safe, the sheriff’s office added.
Hill Country College Preparatory — a public school-of-choice with fewer than 200 students — has spent the day updating parents and guardians with updates and reunification protocols on Facebook.
Students were ushered to a nearby middle school complex, and parents and guardians were required to show valid photo IDs to pick up their kids, the school said.
The school is nestled in a rural suburb with only around 6,000 residents, but it draws applicants from throughout Comal County for a STEM program that allows students to graduate with an associate’s degree.
