A Texas teenager was the fourth person in his school district to recently lose his battle with COVID-19.

George Moralez, 16, of Waco died of the virus Wednesday night, mother Sabrina Medina Moralez wrote on Facebook.

“I still can’t believe I won’t hear his voice, laugh, hug him, or see his smile,” Sabrina posted Thursday.

“I know where my boy is at, he is in heaven and in no more pain,” his grieving mother said, adding he was surrounded by family and friends.

George, who managed his high school’s football team, was the fourth person in Connally Independent School District to have died from complications of COVID-19, according to KXXV.

Two junior high teachers died in August and an instructional aide died last month, the outlet reported.

“Please keep the Moralez family and all other friends and family who have recently lost a loved one in your thoughts and prayers,” Superintendent Wesley Holt wrote to students and parents.

The CDC has reported only 140 COVID-19 deaths among 16 and 17-year-olds out of nearly a million cases in that age bracket since January.

George’s vaccination status was unknown, according to the article.
