Pic shows: This female orangutan was born at the zoo in the German capital of Berlin. German online users have fallen in love with Berlin Zoo's most recent addition - this newborn orangutan. The female orangutan was born in the early hours of 12th January at the zoo in the German capital of Berlin and weighed a tiny 1.8 kilograms, normally regarded as small for an orangutan baby but nevertheless the infant is healthy and strong. For 11-year-old mother Djasinga it was her first baby and sadly she failed to bond with the newborn. The orangutan's keeper Ruben Gralki, 36, said: "We did everything we could to try and encourage a relationship between the two but several hours after birth it was decided that the baby would be separated from its mother and bottle fed." Currently the cute orangutan is being kept out of the public eye and cared for in the offices of the zoo workers whilst her mother has been returned to her enclosure. Despite the worries around the relationship with her mother, the baby appears to be thriving and has become a massive hit German social media. User Anke Angelka was a typical commentator when she wrote: "This little girl is sugar-rush cute!" While another simply said: "I. wanna. have. it". Zoo officials are now trying to decide whether to keep the baby orangutan in the keeper's offices or to move it to another zoo where there might be better facilities. (ends)

Immigrants and asylum seekers, with their mouths taped, protest to demand for asylum in central Athens in this February 1, 2011 file photo. Greece triggered the regional financial crisis in 2009 when a far higher budget deficit than previously calculated emerged. The collapse of talks with creditors in Paris last November set off a month-long sequence of events leading to elections this week and proving Greece is still the region's weak link. The vote is expected to be won by Syriza, a far-left party opposed to the bailout, worrying investors and creditors alike. A Florida manatee swims by a snorkeler inside of Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River, Florida January 15, 2015. On winter days, Florida manatees flock by the hundreds to the balmy waters of Three Sisters Springs, drawing crowds of snorkelers and kayakers to the U.S. sanctuary, where people may swim with the endangered species. But as tolerant as the gentle, whiskered sea giants can be of the accidental kicks and splashes of delighted tourists, wild life regulators want to ban most canoes and paddle boards and create people-free zones to protect the wintering "sea cow." Proposed limitations for this winter are awaiting approval by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Picture taken January 15, 2015. Dave the terrier with the face in his ear. A pet owner was freaked out after she discovered the face of Jesus in the ear of her wet puppy. Rachel Evans, 25, was bathing her mini Yorkshire terrier Dave, along with her other pooches Gilbert the chihuahua and Flo the whippet and took some cute photos. But it wasn't until she showed them to her partner James Williams, 28, that she spotted the face of Jesus in the pet's soggy ear. The DVLA worker from Swansea, Wales, said: "I was a bit freaked out to be honest. "I am a bit superstitious and it's quite spooky."
