Move over, Edward Snowden: A new whistleblower is leaking secret documents — an unnamed source who claims that faulty intelligence and poor targeting result in uncounted civilian deaths from US drones in Afghanistan, Iraq and East Africa.
The source handed over classified government documents that were published Thursday in Glenn Greenwald’s online magazine The Intercept.
Snowden, still a fugitive in Russia, tweeted that the disclosure of more government documents represented “an astonishing act of civil courage.”
The leaker said he turned over the classified data so Americans would know the extent of the US drone program.
