These felines are flying high!
Seth Casteel, whose underwater images of dogs and babies have captivated an international audience, found the purr-fect subjects for his new book, “Pounce.”
The 35-year-old pet photographer spent nearly a year documenting more than 1,000 adoptable cats in action.
“’Underwater Cats’ was an idea, of course, but it’s on permanent hold due to a lack of participants,” he told The Post. “I don’t know a whole ton of cats that like diving into pools.”
Instead, he captured cute cats doing what they love to do – pounce.
The cover cat is an adorable blue-eyed orange kitten that is mimicking a Superman pose — soaring through the sky with its tiny left paw outstretched.

“They’re the boss. When you’re working with kittens, some of them want to play, some of them want to sleep,” he said. “It’s a process of patience.”
One of the featured kittens looks like it is in the middle of a jazz routine with its arms open wide and one of its feet raised as it gets some air in a flower garden.
Another kitten, a stunning white feline with pink features, also looks like it’s dancing — standing upright on its back paws with its hands in the air.
All of the cats featured in the book, which will be released Tuesday, were rescues that have either been recently adopted or still available at shelters across the US.
“Part of the message is about adoption. A lot of people still don’t realize that there are so many awesome cats available in shelters,” Casteel said.
Casteel’s hilarious photos of dogs underwater went viral and were made into a popular picture book back in 2012.
He used the refreshing camera views on babies, too, releasing another book in 2015 that showed newborns practicing their strokes.
