This was one tall order!

The Perth Zoo’s newest resident, a 13-foot female giraffe named Kotito, arrived Thursday in a specially designed crate that gave her a unique view of 2,600 miles from Sydney.

Kotito, which means “child” in Swahili, left Sydney’s Taronga Zoo on Monday and will hook up with a stylish 14-year-old male giraffe named Armani.

“She’s here to meet her boyfriend Armani and start a breeding program,” zookeeper Kaelene McKay said, according to the zoo’s Facebook page

It’s believed there are just 80,000 giraffes alive in the world today, compared to 140,000 just one decade ago.

“Giraffe numbers have been dwindling in the wild, so it’s (breeding) really important,” McKay said. “She’s playing a very important role for us.”

Travel arrangements for 6-year-old Kotito were no easy task.

“A lot of logistics went into it with powerline lifts and the lot, so yeah a very special (delivery),” said driver Mick Harvey, whose shipping company, Toll Group, handled Kotito’s cross-country journey.
