If you think you’re down in the dumps, just be thankful you’re not this guy.
A sewer cleaner of Dhaka City Corp. in the Bangladeshi capital was pictured submerging himself in a filthy manhole without any protective gear, according to Barcroft News.
The overpopulated city — plagued by flooding — is struggling to resolve the issue and keep the faulty drainage system functional by any means necessary.
As a consequence, an increasing number of manhole workers are dying on the job in the region every year, Barcroft reported.
Sewage isn’t the only thing that lurks in the city’s water. Last September during the Islamic Eid al-Adha festival, animal sacrifices and heavy rains turned the streets into rivers of blood.
