Thermometer-making company Kinsa records daily data to see where flu-like symptoms are proliferating, and based on the real-time data collected Wednesday, Kansas tops the charts with about 29,000 people infected.
Ailing Jayhawks are experiencing elevated body temperatures, coughing, sore throats, chills — and general misery, Western Kansas News reported.
The data is nearly perfectly in step with flu data from the Centers for Disease Control, the outlet reported.
The national illness level is at 0.84 percent, as of Wednesday, according to the report.
The second sickest state is Oklahoma, followed by Texas and Missouri.
