This beauty’s in “deep” trouble. Brazilian television personality Karina Oliani participates in an underwater photo shoot without any breathing equipment off the coast of Nassau in the Bahamas.

Oliani, 33, an animal conservationist, floats with the grace of a mermaid in a shiny golden dress as sharks swim all around her. The photo shoot was done at a shark sanctuary as part of a campaign to highlight the dangers of extinction.

“We kill 11,000 sharks every hour; that’s insane,” Oliani says. “Sharks are extremely important animals, they have been around for more than 400 million years.”
