Three children under the age of 5 were killed in an upstate New York fire, state police said Tuesday morning.
The blaze broke out around 11:45 p.m. Monday inside a mobile home located on Pine Haven Circle in Rome in Oneida County and quickly engulfed the structure, creating heavy fire conditions, officials said.
The children, whom police have identified as 2- and 4-year-old girls Temprince and Eliesse Croad and 3-year-old Patrick Croad, were found inside the home and pronounced dead at the scene.
Their parents — Gabrielle Croad, 24, and Patrick Croad, 25 — and a 1-year-old girl who suffered burns to both arms were taken to SUNY Upstate Medical Center.
A baby sitter who was also inside the home survived, according to syracuse.com.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
