A Georgia grand jury has indicted all three white men accused in the shooting death of unarmed black jogger Ahmaud Arbery on murder charges, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

The indictment charges Travis McMichael, 34, his 64-year-old father, Gregory McMichael, and William “Roddie” Byan, 50, with nine counts, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and false imprisonment, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

“This is another step forward in seeking justice for Ahamaud,” Cobb County District Attorney Joyette Holmes said during a press conference, WGCL-TV said. “Our team from the Cobb Judicial Circuit has been committed to effectively bringing forward the evidence in this case, and today was no exception.”

“We will continue to be intentional in the pursuit of justice for this family and the community at large as the prosecution of this case continues,” she said.

Arbery, 25, was chased down by the three men as he jogged through the Brunswick neighborhood on Feb. 23 and was shot and killed by Travis McMichael while his father looked on and Bryan filmed the encounter on his mobile phone.

No arrests were made in the case until last month when Bryan’s video was made public and sparked national outrage.

Prosecutors said the McMichaels chased Arbery in their pickup truck for several minutes, and that Bryan joined the case and tried to block the jogger with his pickup several times — even striking him with the vehicle at one point.
