Three teens were arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old found in a car in Laurel, Maryland.
Kalik Johnson, 18, of Laurel; Kylah Nettleton, 18, of Severn; and Darius Tarik Johnson, 17, of Upper Marlboro, have been charged for Dustin Khoury’s slaying on July 18.
Khoury, who was a rising Meade Senior High School senior, met the suspects for an illegal transaction, WRC-TV reported.
“During that transaction, the suspects shot the victim,” police said in a statement.
Officers responded to a call about a shooting around 8:25 p.m. and rushed Khoury to the hospital, where he later died.
“He never reached adulthood, never had a chance to live life,” father Michael Khoury told WRC-TV. “I’m not too sure how it’s going to go. It’s just one day at a time for us.”
Police announced Tuesday that the three suspects have been charged with first- and second-degree murder. The teens are being held without bail.
