Neo-Nazis are using the Mollie Tibbetts murder case to push their racist agenda in Iowa.
Residents began receiving robocalls Tuesday evening, which said in part: “Mollie Tibbetts was found in a cornfield after she was stabbed to death by an invader from Mexico,” according Iowa Starting Line.
The racist message continues by calling Tibbetts’ alleged murderer, Cristhian Rivera, who is from Mexico, “A biological hybrid of white and savage Aztec ancestors” that is part of a culture of “low-IQ, bottom-feeding savages.”
“We don’t have to kill them all, but we do have to deport them all,” the creepy call says about immigrants from Mexico.
It also suggests that if the 20-year-old University of Iowa student were still alive, she would support killing all Mexican immigrants – contrary to statements from her family.
Though the number showed the call was coming from Brooklyn, Iowa – where Tibbetts was abducted last month – it actually originated in Idaho, the Des Moines Register reported.
The call was paid for by The Road to Power, a group with a white nationalist podcast that has been linked to Scott Rhodes, also known as Scott Platek of Sandpoint, Idaho, according to the report.
The Iowa Attorney General’s Office said they haven’t gotten any complaints about the calls, but are investigating whether they are legal and have alerted the Iowa Civil Rights Commission.
Since charges were announced against Rivera — an illegal immigrant from Mexico, according to federal investigators — hateful messages about Mexican people and immigrants have intensified.
Politicians have used the Tibbetts case to push their anti-immigration agendas.
The victim’s family has fought back against her death being used for politics, or to justify hate against the Latino community.
“The Hispanic community are Iowans. They have the same values as Iowans,” Mollie’s dad, Rob Tibbetts, said at her funeral on Sunday.
