A 6-month-old boy plunged to his death when his mom lost her balance while wearing high heels and dropped him from a balcony, according to a report Monday.

The tragic accident occurred Sunday during a wedding in Kalyan, India, near Mumbai, the Times of India reported.

Mom Femida Shaikh, 23, was carrying little Mohammed when she stumbled in her stilettos, sending the infant flying off a first-floor balcony.

Mohammed was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police are investigating but said the incident was accidental.
