Investigators hunting for a 2-year-old boy missing since his parents’ murder-suicide in Montana have found the body of a toddler in the area.
The FBI and local authorities made the gruesome discovery Saturday while searching for young Aiden Salcido, 2, at an abandoned Montana campsite near West Fisher Creek, where his on-the-lam parents Daniel Salcido, 21, and Hannah Janiak, 24, had been hiding out from the law at one point.
It is believed Daniel fatally shot Janiak before turning the gun on himself Wednesday after they were pulled over and led cops on a car chase. Both were wanted on felony warrants after they failed to report to jail in June following burglary convictions. Aiden was not in the car.
The boy was last seen with his parents June 3 and 4 as they purchased camping equipment at a Walmart in Medford, Oregon.
Officials could not immediately confirm the toddler’s body belonged to Aiden.
